Terms and Conditions

Purpose: The terms and conditions are part of the contract and inform you about our general principles. Service: The Outdoor Classroom offers children’s activities in promotion of education in English. We see that each child receives the utmost care and benefits from our unique outdoor educational scheme. Designed for children aged 4 - 10 years. General: The Outdoor Classroom treats safety and wellbeing of all participants attending as a priority. Activities are led in English, staff can converse in EN/DE/FR. Your information is kept confidential. Hours: Additional hours of care can be booked in advance for an extra cost of 30-.CHF per hour. These charges will also apply for late pick ups. Location: The meeting point is used to gather at the start and finish time, and serves as the drop off/pick up point. Operating Permit: The Outdoor Classroom holds an official recognition from the authorities at Städt Zurich. Sally Draffan is the founder of the limited company – The Outdoor Classroom. All employees adhere to the same terms and concept set. By submitting the application form, parents agree for their child to participate in all activities and excursions. Insurance: There is no insurance cover. Insurance against accidents, illness and personal liability is the responsibility of the participants. The Outdoor Classroom is not liable for lost or damaged personal belongings, nor is The Outdoor Classroom liable for accidents, the invitee has assumed associated risks involved. Social media: As part of this contract your consent is given to take pictures of your child (without their face being shown/blurred face) and use these photos on social platforms. Catering: We provide healthy snacks. Meals are not included. Inform us of any dietary requirements or allergies. Health: The child can’t attend if they are unwell. Parents will be contacted immediately if the child is injured or becomes unwell during our care. Staff are trained in providing first aid and will ensure your child is treated with the utmost care. Parents warrant that the child is able to participate in activities. Parents authorise staff to arrange appropriate first aid or medical attention when required. Clothing and Equipment: Bring a backpack with a water bottle and food (if required). Recommended to bring spare/extra clothes. Your child will need weather appropriate clothing and comfortable footwear. Sun lotion, tick spray and mosquito repellent shall be applied as necessary. All children must be toilet trained. Transportation: Agreement to use of public transport services. Any disruptions, parents will be kept updated. Exclusion: If a child is disruptive and is a danger to themselves or others, parents will be informed and in extreme cases (violence against other children or staff) the child could be excluded from the group. Safety measures: Thorough risk assessments are carried out. Policies and procedures in place to protect children. Indoor activities will take place as and when necessary. Groups of maximum 10 children, led by a qualified member. Staff have relevant experience/qualifications to work with children and are first aid trained. Sign up: Complete and submit the relevant information, then you will receive an invoice separately. Payment: Payment must be made in full within 14 days to secure your booking. Payment is made via payment slip to ‘The Outdoor Classroom’. Details can be found on the invoice. Cancellation: Regrettably, we do not offer refunds. If parents need to cancel the booking, the invitee is entitle to: change the dates (subject to availability). If management need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund shall be given. Code of Conduct: All must adhere to our code of conduct principles which are; open mind-set and respect, sense of responsibility and safety, honesty and trust.
